Is it ok to work out during a heavy menstrual flow?


I tend to be anemic and I have a heavy flow for a few days and I get tired and dizzy, and I hate that I feel like I can't work out those days. Is it ok to work out or should I just take it easy?
And yes my doctor has suggested I take pre-natal vitamins

Its usually good for you to work out during your period, but if you feel dizzy at any time when exercising you should slow down. You should also probably take a women's vitamin (women's have more iron, which you need) this might help reduce anemic sy

if you're afraid of leaking, wear both. or you could just use panty liner instead of a pad..as long as you have a tampon in.

I am 50. My periods are horrible! The blood flow is extremely heavy. I using an overnight pad every hour. I am not having any cramping. Is there an over the counter medicine that I can use to slow the flow? Is there a certain vitamin that would help?


physical activity helps a lot. maybe do some endurance everyday while on your period and every other day when you in between..

My mom's friend has been taking this stuff called Protandim and it has helped immensely with that "stuff" - sorry as a guy it's not my favorite topic - but also her acid reflux and inflammation. Check it out and I can give you some more info

Yes, that is a heavy flow. Especially since it has been happening for 6 days. I would see a Dr. and have them check everything out to make sure it is ok. By the 6th day of your period you shouldn't be bleeding that heavily.

I took Oral contraceptive pills last month and stopped them in order to regulate my cycle,however after 28 pills, i spotted for 2 days very very light red blood. then a week later i had brown discharge for 2 days then very heavy menstrual period and bleeding


I would call your doc and or go to er . Keep track of how often you change your pad or tampon . And whether you are using super pluses or what . Also elevating your feet might help slow it down . I would defiantly contact your doc though

no especially since this is your second period. your body is still regulating itself and hopefully your period will become lighter. if it doesn't though you can go on birth control to help make your period lighter. so there are options to fix the heavy
